This is Maarief Sukma Indrawan’s personal website. This is the place where I show the internet my passion for P.A.T.H.; Photography, Anime, Transportation, and Hi-Tech.

Photography is pretty straightforward. I shoot analog and digital. I love taking pictures of landscapes, modes of transport (car, bus, train, planes, etc). I am a proud Pentaxian and use Pentax K50 dan Pentax P30t as my daily driver. My favorite roll of films is Fuji Industrial 400. It has that nice grainy feel and a great tone.

Anime is hand-drawn or computer-generated animation commonly produced in Japan. I see anime as a specific animation style, and it doesn’t have to be made in Japan. In my opinion, western cartoon like Spongebob Squarepants, or The Simpsons is not anime due to the huge difference in the art style. I started watching anime in spring 2013. At that time I was overwhelmed by the amount of school work and the fact that I am somewhat lonely, studying abroad with only a handful of friends to talk to. By spring 2020, I have spent 100 days watching anime. That’s pretty much 1 hour per day… Everyday… For 7 years. I’m planning to keep this up or increase it a bit to 1.5 hours per day. Anime itself has a lot of genres. My favorite one is definitely the slice of life genre with iyashikei sub-genre. This is how I manage my sanity

Transportation is somewhat like traveling but emphasizes how you get from point A to point B. Most people probably put traveling as their hobby, but for me, it’s the journey that’s more satisfying. Don’t get me wrong, I like traveling. I am on a mission to go to every Sekolah Indonesia di Luar Negeri (Indonesian School Abroad). However, my traveling is not limited to visiting country X. I would love to go to country X and try its public transportation system. Be it public bus, metro, MRT, streetcar, or train… I love them all. In fact, I’m collecting public transportation fare tickets around the world. In addition to commuter or local public transportation, I also love the high-speed train (be it Shinkansen, TGV, CRH, ICE, etc) and airplanes in general (be it passenger or cargo planes). My current favorite train is the Alfa-x (E956), the next-gen Shinkansen. Who doesn’t love that lovely duckbill in the front of the train? As for airplanes, I would pick the Airbus A350 for the passenger plane and Antonov AN 225 for the cargo plane. A350 has that iconic windshield design and look at the smooth sharklet. AN 225 is a beast. It’s the largest airplane to fly, ever. Too bad it was destroyed during the current event. I hope someday the plane can be repaired or the second frame can be developed further.

Hi-Tech is anything that’s related to technology advancement, PC hardware and software, and industry 4.0 related development. When I was in middle school, I was amazed at how we, humans, can make pretty much anything. Robots, PC, Cell Phones, etc are the things that I can see and use at that time, but I cannot grasp how complex it is and how it actually works. Since then, I have been following tech news and always looking for new innovations. Technology advancement helps our life easier. Back when I was in middle school, we don’t have smartphones. The PC is also way slower than today. Dual-core was the king and what the heck is multi-threading. Internet was slow and not that huge. As time goes by, it became clear that industry 4.0 is coming. I’m somewhat tech-savvy and trying my best to be up to date with tech news. By the way, in the PC hardware thing, I am a huge fan of team Red! Go AMD! All the PC that I have built or the laptop I have owned is AMD-powered machine. My first ever PC was an AMD Athlon from 2007. Bought the parts from Oldie Moscow, and built them by myself (and some help from my older classmate). Forgot the name and it has been long dead due to the Indonesian heat (2007-2010). The next PC is AMD Phenom X4 955BE which I managed to overclock. It didn’t last long (2011-2012) and was replaced by AMD FX6100 (2012-). This one is still alive today. As for laptops, my first laptop is HP Pavilion DV2 with AMD Athlon Neo X2 (2009-2013). Yes, X2 variants have dual-core 1.6Ghz processing power! One of the thinnest laptops at that time. It went into a coma when I was doing my final paper for that Associate degree, so I bought Acer Aspire V5 with AMD A10-5757M. It was doing great until the GPU failed in 2017 (so 2013-2017). I’m now using Redmibook 14 II with AMD Ryzen R7 4700U as my main laptop. Still saving some money to upgrade the PC
